Spelling
Agressive or aggressive?
Aggressive is the right spelling. Agressive is a common misspelling of it.
AGRESSIVE has one G where AGGRESSIVE has two.
Why people write AGRESSIVE
Double letters are not heard when the word is said, so it is easy to write only one. The doubling usually comes from how the word was built: a prefix that ends in the same letter as the root (ac + commodate), or a final consonant doubled before an ending (begin, beginning).
Say the word slowly in syllables and write each syllable separately: the doubled letter usually sits where two syllables meet.
